No, these are a single-layer 80% polyester / 20% elastane shell with no mesh liner or brief.
All-over printed swim shorts do not guarantee pattern alignment at seams. A checker grid may not line up exactly at side seams or at front-to-back joins — this is standard for printed swimwear at this price point and production method.
The adhesive secure-close flap keeps the pocket sealed during swimming. However, prolonged water exposure can damage magnetic stripe and RFID key cards. A standard metal key is the recommended item for the back pocket during swimming; leave key cards in a dry location.
The grommet is a small eyelet at the very base of the back patch pocket. When you exit the water, gravity drains water through the eyelet. The drainage is passive and works best when the shorts are vertical or the pocket base is downward.
The on-seam welt pockets are shallow and open-top. A small bottle of sunscreen could fit, but it would not be securely held during active movement. These pockets are best used for very flat or small items on land.
